I know there are a few people who run drops offroad here - so this might be of interest.
After snapping the lever body on my lovely 20th Anniversary HS33s t'other day, I now have some spare brakes to experiment with!
I've been on the look-out for some HS66s for ages to fit on my SS cross bike, but have given up now, so.............Franken-Maguras here we come
I've bought a pair of older HS11 levers on ebay. The clamps have a lot of extra material on them compared to the HS33 levers, so I should be able to file/dremel them out to fit onto road bars.
Hopefully the 4 finger levers should mean that you can brake effectively on the drops, and if I file the clamps at a slight angle I can change the lever angle in relation to the bars.
This is the basic plan (excuse the shonky MS Paint drawing!):
I'll upload photos as this continues - might be interesting!
