After buying a ti frame that turned out to need repair, i decided to find something else to hang the 27.5 wheels and parts i bought for it from. Enter the 90s boy group 'Hanson' inspired mmmbop (or was it the comet?, oh, that was halebop).

I also decided to purchase the oe forks to save me having to build a frankenfork or source a ready made one for it.

The frame is structurally sound but has seen some action and has various scrapes and rubs. Normally I'd consider renovation and refurb before building, but I'm trying to rid myself of that compulsion, so I plan a good clean and polish only before building up.

However, I would like to tidy it up a bit, especially the worst scuffs and scratches.

The way I see it, I have 2 options:

1. Touch up the worst marks with an approximate matching paint

2. Get creative with decals and rub protectors

I'm favouring option 2. The worst area though is the seat tube where there are a couple of large areas of paint loss due to a rubbing dropper cable (why I don't know as it has internal routing).

Anyone got any thoughts on a decal or strategy to cover this without it looking rubbish?

Pics of examples for inspiration would be great. Comedy to serious, I'm open to suggestions.

I will post pictures of whatever I do to show I listened and took suggestions on board.

I'm also in two minds on which set of wheels to use:

Crossmax (Not sure of model, just says crossmax).

Fulcrum red metal (I think).

Both are new, and I think compatible with the 15mm front axle, and 12mm rear.

Thoughts?

This will be my first 27.5 build, looking forward to finding out if I prefer 26, 27.5 or 29er bikes afterwards.
