Not featherlight, but this piece is undestructable!
Front view FatMax & BigChamp
Built with Miyata's own Hardtlite FM-1 tubing. Some history: In 1990 Miyata (and Koga-Miyata) used Tange Switchblades for their top op the range models (see my golden Century). For '91 the Switchblades were replaced by the BigChamp. This particular BigChamp belongs to the Koga-Miyata TrailRunner:
1991 KM TrailRunner. Do have this bike, but I do not have a proper pic. My Miyata Team has a blue BC.
'91 was the only year for the BigChamp, as for '92 Miyata already introduced the FatMax. Also strong, but lighter: only 745gr. At Koga the FatMax was featured on various models (RidgeRunner, TiRunner, TrailRunner, SkyRunner) in the '92 and '93 line up. By '94 everybody wanted suspension forks ('94 Showa, '95 RondWP).
