The fork has to be a special size and was made in three sizes...small medium and large......which is yours.....

on a conventional fork it would be the bit that slides up into the bike frame so you can attach the handlebars and stems onto chap

Love these forks,

On my set, measuring between the pivots on the carbon legs:

The distance between the top pivot (yellow ends) and lower pivot is around 152mm centre to centre.

And that is to set a steerer gap of 164mm. As drawn in Sylus' post.

Edit: Interestingly my steerer is 225mm, so I'd guess these were the smaller of the sizes made.
