Firstly Its got slicks on it as I did the London to Brighton ride on it, not wanting to wear out the 1.9 Smoke and Dart I have for it.

I posted the pics because I wanted to share a slightly unusual bike as some may have never seen one.

The problem with these web forums is some users are more interested in getting one up on the next user with their so called knowledge and opionins trying to be the better man, at the end of the day its just a BIKE, and if they had the balls to say it to the persons face (which I very much doubt) they'd get a punch in the face.

Yes I have got the arse, I might take the whole lot dowm.

Its a shame the Mod's would frown on the use of the words Knob and Dickhead.

If you cant sat anything constructive dont say anything atall.

Lee.

Maybe if you'd written some details of the bike explaining the current build rather than a one liner with no picture you'd get more constructive conversation. With respect to the bike itself there are some interesting details (of which you make no mention) but without a back story it just looks like any other old bike thrown together as a commuter.

As far as the 'build factor' is concerned, in my eyes, it is a classic period build...

...and as one who used Tioga City Slickers on his '92 Scott Montana to commute every day BiTD then

Adding the the long piece of history I posted in >97 section, when i recived it it had a mish mash of parts on it like a dodgy steel Bmx headset a good head set was veru hard to find for this one hence the King TI, the B.B was a steel white industries, put in badly, pace front hub kanckerd, hope screw cassete rear on those dodgy Campag Atex rims, sawn off Pace bars, The first XT servowave leavers with the gear pods sawn off! the seat post was shimed with a 35mm camera film case. basiclly smashed up piece of poo,Ive got a photo somewhere. so iIstripped it, had the hope disc mount brazed on, origanally had it powder coated white, (didnt go well). then decided to take it back to origanal colour and get the decals made up. I know some of the parts are not inline with the bike, I didnt do it to be perfect, I still ride it ( when its not too muddy!!) Ive never seen another, only two pics i can find on the net.
Id reall like a XTR front mech 28.6 high clamp but cant find one, and some TI egg beaters too. its was always Purple-Pink and blue trick bits bit naff now I know. Its a great ride, a bit bone shakey when really rough tho, never ridin anything as fast up hill.

By period do you mean most of the 90s??

What else??

The overall appearance gives the impression it was built 'as is' BiTD, not a modern 'retro' build; as such it has an attraction all of its own.

And having just looked at the >97 thread it seems I was right... ;)
