Mike's next bike : Bianchi TSX, more pics, 30th May

Re: Mike's next bike : Bianchi TSX, NEARLY FINISHED!

Élite Ciussi :) just bought a pair, 6k HUF (little less than 14GBP converted in pair from a LBS)

Re:

Hi folks ;)

I ( almost ? ) finished this bike this afternoon, so here's an update for you.
Was having trouble with the headset, the seller sold me a 'complete' one that turned out to have a washer/dust seal missing. Said he would send it on, which he did. Turned out to be a cassette spacer.
So having got a good discount, as well as keeping it, I thought I wouldn't take any more chances, and so ordered a Dura Ace cartridge one instead. Here it is,

The eagle eyed among you, may have noticed the locknut is shiny. That's because it's from a 1050 headset. There wasn't enough thread on the fork for the D/A one   The D/A one is chamfered on the inside, and so didn't have enough purchase on the thread on the fork. This one is threaded from the bottom. That's not a washer twixt the two nuts BTW. Not sure if I want to keep it like this, or if it will hold.
So, having got home from work today, the final piece of the bike arrived, thnks to a very generous History Man ;) . A piece of grey gear outer.
Pics to follow tomorrow, as I have to go to a wedding reception now.
TBH, I 'd rather finish this and show you my work

Re:

Here's the bike as it stands now,

Sorry about my new home-made stand ! I finished that yesterday too!

Really not sure what to do about the headset at this stage. I'll measure the stack height of both the 6400 and this D/A one. If the 6400 is lower, I may have to look for another washer/dust seal. Maybe from a cheap 105 if I spot one.

:) I love the stem. Makes the bike more aggressive imho, esp. with the straight legged forks.

Incredibly nice build! :) Motivates me to ride by simply looking ä it.

Thank you, you're very kind. It's a 140mm stem. Taking the measurements from another bike I ride a lot, I think it will stay too.
BTW, I got three of those Elite cages for £19 in the end

Now off to measure headset stacks
Pleased it's raining here, or I may actually want to ride it

Re:

I'd need leg extensions to go on that! it is nice though!

Should be a quick commute! Hope you've got somewhere safe to lock it up.

Re:

Tha one is Nivachrom and mega bucks!

Yes it should be fast, only need around 3 gears. It will be in the end of a safe warehouse. May take it up the local 17% hill on the way home
