Fair enough point, but its still the lowest friction option available. Nothing like a bit of cable on metal contact (on my current Rourke with the Cinelli bottom bracket shell) to make you long for the plastic slider :roll:

Was bought over by Competitive Cyclist as a distributor. Still were getting the frames made by Form Cycles in Arizona, but they went bang in 2016 after a couple of bad years.

'Models' tab on the website redirects to CC website, but only a couple of frames available (no road), including their new carbon 'Empire' - is this just a complete lack of understanding?! Anyone who is looking for a Merlin, wants the look of Titanium...

yeah it was competitive that bought the name and resurrected them (guy that owned competitive was a big merlin fan apparently).
There was a lot of flack on their facebook page when they unveiled the carbon bike and they got all defensive about how merlin originally made from the best available and were all about technology, so it's fitting that they make a carbon bike..except that was probably true in the 80's, but by well, 5 seconds later Merlin was synonymous with titanium and thats what people want/expect from merlin, the ti gods, not some cookie carbon frame.
