Hello John ,
Thank you for your interest . I am not sure of the model and am no Mercian expert . Based on the tubing and the quality of the lugs/bracket shell I would say it is medium to high end in their range . I think it has had little use . I am based in Wakefield West Yorkshire .
kind regards Stuart .

It looks very much like the King of Mercia frame that I have for sale but this one is my size so I would definitely be interested in buying it. Do you have the frame number? I am down in Winchester, would you be able to post it?
KR John

Hi John ,
The frame number is and I am struggling to read this with glasses and a magnifying glass: EH33 2PR .
Yes my thoughts that I kept to myself is that it would be the King of Mercia model . I can definitely post if for £20,00 extra . frame and forks will have rods to prevent compression to front and rear ends , pipe lagging on all tubes , a sturdy box and plenty of bubble wrap . That would come to £145,00 posted .

Judging by the frame no is this definately a Mercian
That "frame number" looks like previous owner's Edinburgh post code. A pukka number would be, typically, 12388. I.e
123rd frame made in 1988. Often accompanied by a single digit identifying the actual frame builder. E.g. 6 = George Bryan. And you shouldn't need a magnifying glass to read them!
EDIT the engraved seat stay top shouts MERCIAN.

Ha ha, I assumed that was not the frame number, but the rest of the frame looks genuine to me, almost identical to the 52cm KoM frame I have for sale futher down the forum. Except mine has the wrap over seat stays unlike this one. Mine is a 1997 and my assumption is that this one is a later model.

Do people really go so far as to recreate the "MERCIAN" stamped seat stays to fake things?

EDIT TO ADD

Just looked up te postcode. EH332PR is Winton Ct, Tranent just to the east of Edinburgh. :)
