Mercian frame help advise needed please

Hi guys ive just bought the below mercian frame off of ebay, the gentleman fount it in his garage as he was clearing it out,

Can any of you experts give me any advise on the age and model of the frame?

The frame looks like a Mercian Super light, the shop will be able to give more info but I think they charge a tenner?

A better picture of the stays joining the seat tube would be nice but it does look like a Superlight as they do seem to be fast back type stays and the fancy lugs point o that as well.

Ive just had it confirmed by Mercians a Derby that indeed it is a Superlight frame but they couldnt identify the year

Thats what i thought with the brazed on gear changer points

It does look like 2001 is stamped underneath?

That's a lovely frame, I'd go with the 2001 stamp being the year it was made. I assume it is made for recessed brakes rather than nutted?

Any clues what tubing it is?

If it's 2001 Mercian I thought would have been able to tell you what the tubing is, when built etc.
With my two KOM one is a late nineties in 531c and the other late eighties in 653.
If you did the £20 payment for the history of it they should have the build sheet and other details. You can pay for it on the website from memory.
It's a lovely frameset and I think it would look brilliant with a nice respray with maybe head tube and a seat tube band in contrasting colour with the lugs picked out. They deserve to be shown off
