Medium cage rear mech

Hi just looking for a few bits to finish a build for a mate, cheap & functional but not too tatty being the opperative words doesn't need to be retro
All for an 8 speed shimano set up:-
1. 46 tooth 4 bolt pref black chainring - now sorted
2. Medium cage rear mech, pref not rapid rise
3. Bottom pull front mech with 28.6mm clamp - now sorted

Hi, I have a 4 bolt middleburn 46t on this thread, will have to confirm bcd. and can split if you get no joy finding a black one

Ah, you might have a point, MTB mechs can come in long or short & road mechs can come in long or short - so I might be after a long road mech or a short mtb mech or maybe even a medium afterall

Shimano made medium length mechs... what ratio's you running ?

I've a few short cage road mechs going spare.. but will only run up to a 28/30toothed sprocket..

Just fixing up an old Marin Muriwoods for a friend & rear mech is the last thing I need for it - running a 22/32/44 triple with a 11 to 26 (or might be 2 cassette, prob thinking a GS version of the tiagra would work best, but don't think a short road cage will work.

Why are my eights coming up as ?
