Me and the old Raleigh

Some great examples there!

Mines has internal cable routing in the top tube so I'm guessing it is a late model which had the same decals as legrandfromage's.

Love the gold bling and Nasa Challenger graphics of lacklustre's bike. I think this will end up as a later RRS dressed in earlier graphics and gold.

Keep them coming!

As long as its a standard screw on freehub, a new freewheel will index perfectly, but dont forget to replace the chain as the early ones are just a bit too thick for later cassettes

Some Sprints came with the Helicomatic hubs.

I've just indexed some Shimano 300EX mechs/ SL-434 6spd levers to a 6spd Sachs freewheel on a Campagnolo hub - soooo...?

Mine has a Heliomatic hub!

Hmm... 5mm spacing and 'narrow' chain required - they should index fine with a Shimano mech and shifter.

It may be a bit clattery as theres no shifting ramps or profiled teeth

The mech in my pic will actually do ten speeds indexed and is a nice period upgrade if you dont want to go posh with 600 or 105

Thanks I'll have a tinker tomorrow!

I switched the lever over to index mode and was surprised to find the indexing up and down the cassette while far from perfect nevertheless usable and predictable. This with the Helicomatic hub and Golden Arrow rear mech.

I believe the rear dropout spacing on my RRS is 120mm what wheel options without cold setting the frame exist to upgrade the ride experience a bit?
