Max tyre size for Alex Rims DA22 (700c)?

I'm wondering what the max safe tyre size for road / tow path use would be for this 700c rim:

Thinking 28c, or 32c at a push?

A general guideline is that the tyre width should be between 1.45 to 2.0 x the inner rim
width.

I've had that rim on 28's without a prob.

I too ran 28 with no problem. In fact my rims came on a tcx and ths had 32 cross tyres on.

cheers guys, might stick with 28 or 30c for these

though on my 29er the 2.35" tyres bulge out like crazy (on Rigida Sputnik and DT Swiss rims) and no issues

I wonder if 29er tyres are designed that way for off riad cushioning. You could check the bead-bead width of the tyres.
