The Mavic Open Pro T is indeed a standard tubular rim. I hope nobody is ever going to try to glue tubular tires on clincher rims!!

Ok, cheers for the update. I haven't used tubulars since the GP4 days.

I first associated the "open" prefix with open 4 CDs and (wrongly) assumed open meant an open rim to accommodate clinchers as opposed to sprints which have a closed box section.

Laughingly I have actually seen a tub stretched over a clincher and ridden. It wasn't glued either

Actually, it made me think of this hybrid system by Tufo. But I have never seen anyone using this ...

I am sure there were some strange hybrid rims that could be used for either clinchers or tubs in the early 80s. I only saw them advertised, not in the flesh, but I do remember being curious... Can anyone confirm, or is my brain making it all up?
