Mavic DD521 Rims on Shimano Deore LX hub. About 1000 miles of touring on them and then placed in the attic to collect dust.

These were off my girlfriend's KONA Cinder Cone. 150 miles (at most!) on off road tracks. No hard stuff involved. As above, placed in the attic and forgotten about. Ideal for the original retro build.

Is there any chance you could send a picture of a card against the D521 rims so that I can check the wear please?

And how do the hubs feel? Just a bit stiff from inactivity? Or any actual crunching you can feel?

I've just been out to the garage and took these pics of the blocks and rim.
As you can see there is little wear and tear.
I'll clean 'em up before posting.

They're just full of dust.
The bearings are good and run smooth.
Obviously, the Shimano Deore hubs run smoother than the Sun Rim hubs, but they're still good.

Sun rims are still available, so far...
