“Flickin. Blip!” as Mint Sauce might say...

I actually have one of these in my collection ( minus jockey wheels which I upgraded to Control Tech green ano.) back in the day!
You have? Any pics?? I've been on the look out for one of these but no chance
I do like these - but no way on earth I'll spend so much on a rear mech!

I presume this is the same model as being discussed ?

Was used in mid 1990s briefly , inspired by the Chipps Chippendale Fuquay build that was on the front cover of a early Mtb Pro magazine...

Link to Flickr album above for further reference , better identification by Mavic experts welcomed...always thought might re-use it as a very nice looking chain tensioner on a single speed conversion build. Any leads on where I could locate the missing jockey wheel bolt (other than calling in Time Team to excavate the shed!]…would be appreciated.

I wouldn’t be able to help with jockey wheels
But velobase has info on this and as has http://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/MAV ... lleur.html
This is a mid cage 841.
I for one really like these - probably the coolest looking derailleur ever!

This page has part numbers for the jockey wheel bolt etc (meant to say Bolt on my previous response too) http://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/MAV ... ge_20.html if you email Mavic customer services they’ll be able to help procure them for you - if you’re lucky they’ll send you a complete NOS derailleur (as they did to me when I wanted a Mavic 316 crown race - they sent me a NOS 3-6 headset complete! )

Thanks ibbz, really helpful to know, about the sparevparts will look into this further... I also have a 1” Mavic headset missing a key part (got lost during a respray in 1993) fortunately have the diagram for that still, so will try enquiring.

Agree love the looks, hope you do’t think am wasting it keeping it ‘archived’ for use a as cool looking chain tensioner!

Think I read online recently some where Mavic were in financial difficulty, for e.g were not going to provide neutral race support in the world tour? ... fingers’ crossed might still supply spares!

Thanks to mdvineng - I’ll soon have one! And possibly a front mech too! Will be at protectionist local British pricing! Hehe!
They’ll be going on, along with a NOS Mavic 316 headset - on a Look Mi90 kindly given to me by Carl Sinnerman. Thank you Dave and thanks all.
I’ll be making a build thread at some point when I’ve parts together.

I’m pre-empting a bit as mdvineng might change his mind!
