If only that is my problem, I will be soooo happy! :D
(I haven't got experience about the air forks...)
me neither, but what else would hold the air in if not the seals? :)

Re: Marzocchi Z2 Superfly restoration???

The bits circled are extremely delicate. What you tighten that nut you took off, remember there is an o-ring in the setup, you will want to keep on tightening DO NOT. IT will snap the circled red bit with no effort. You have been warned.

The crack is in the dust seal, it's of no relevance, but the rest looks warn.
BUT it probably means the seal under it (the air/oil seal) is warn too as dirt will have got to it. It probably still works, but you may as well change as they come as a set with the dust seals.

Air can leak out of.
- The valve
- The Main seal (under another big one under that dust seal)
- The bit you bolt at the bottom (ferrule, nut in socket, o-ring bit circled in red)

Best bet is to pump it up and use slightly soapy water to see where air is seeping from, with the hop you can see.

Re:

I'd go for the original Marzocchi seals..

I put Enduro fork seals on some Fox Vanillas i had and they killed a lot of the small bump sensitivity..
I rode them for about 6 months so they had plenty of time to bed in...!

On the plus side.. They're very good at being a seal and not letting crap past them into the forks.. (they're better than the fox ones they replaced in this respect..)
but are a bit too tight and inflexible in my opinion and work as a sort of friction damper..

Re: Marzocchi Z2 Superfly restoration???

The air is not leaking, if I not use it.
For sure, it is repairable? Because a few people tells me, it will never be good, if once leaking.
The fork hasn't got nothing mechanical damage, looks perfect, just it's not used in the last 6-8years...
So I hope...if this 4seals and a fresh oil solve my problem, I will be so happy... :)

Re: Marzocchi Z2 Superfly restoration???

Have you service the fork yet. I would just give it a strip and clean Angyalpor, could just be a bit of dirt or part a bit loose.
Either the valve or bolt part at the bottom. or dirt on the seal and the increased pressure when the compress jut pushes it out.

Re: Marzocchi Z2 Superfly restoration???

So.
I will buy a set of seals for it, and then...we will see. :)
I think, the fork's condition is worth a try.

Re:

a quick update of my own :p

the top seals popped out easy with a flat head screwdriver, but the other two are held in place with circliups, ive had a very quick go at removing these before i head off to work but they dont wanna budge yet :)

cheers

Re: Marzocchi Z2 Superfly restoration???

The oil seals can be a bit of a see you next Tuesday to get out, but with a bit of effort they will just lift out. Remove the circlip, and wedge a large blade flathead screwdriver between the bottom of the seal and the washer that sits beneath (which protects the top of the bushing). Where the shaft of the screwdriver meets the top of the fork leg when you come to lever it out, I wind a good bit of plumbers tape just to give a bit of protection, but really all that is left to do is force that fcuker out. First few times I did it I was scared of denting/bending the fork leg (shows how much force is needed), but that hasn't happened to date.

Do you have a tool to properly seat fresh seals?
