Marzocchi Z1 BAMs - bottoming out to crown

OK, so I have built the majority of my bike, and like a teenager I did the age old thing of seeing how far the forks travel.

Which is all the way to the crown (I can get them to bang). I don't remember Z1's doing this back in the day.

What could be causing this? Low oil level (the seals need a change)? Bump stop missing?

open them up and see how much oil is in there, oil level should be 50mm from the top of the sanction on these i think

I plan to strip them down next week, so I should find the problem then.

Took the top caps off, the forks contained zero oil lol.

All sorted; other than the oil seals themselves
