Poor old Marzocchis get a lot of flack.

I don't have any experience of the 500s but my xc700s are pretty similar in construction and they work really well. They are a bit "noodly" but they look good and work well.

You can still buy air, oil and dust seals and some other spares from allterraincycles.co.uk - be warned though - they aint cheap!
