Marzocchi Service Question

Dare

Senior Retro Guru
Hi guys,
I want to service my marz z2 air from 2000. and I am having troubles finding appropriate tool to unscrew bottom screw from the right leg (the one that has rebound adjusting rod).

The rebound adjusting rod is to short on this pic...but whatever.

I have this deep wrench but it is too short for this job. Any suggestions, maybe ebay link to appropriate tool...I would really appreciate it!

Regards,
Darko

you use a socket extension, would normally come in any socket set.

Come in all sorts of lengths. (very short ones are used as adaptors)
Just get the one you need for the socket spanner you have and for the socket end you have.
1/2" , 1/4" etc.
e.g. for the look.

Thank you very much for your reply, however, I know what I need I am just asking for somebody that has acctually serviced Marz, such as mine, what did he/she used to unscrew those bolts and if that person can point me to place on internet to get it.

The links you sent me are great but those extensions are not hollow so the rod cannot go through it.

Re:

to remove the bolt you'll need an extra long socket..

looks like youve tried this already..but there might be an even longer one somewhere out there..

or you can get whats known as a pass through socket and ratchet

it probably wont be cheap though as it uses a different way of mounting from the ratchet to the sockets compared to normal socket drive systems..

so youll need a new pass through ratchet.. correct sized pass through socket.. and probably a pass through extension..

you might get away with just a pass through extension and socket though if you can bodge something to clamp onto the extension and give you some leverage.. or you might also chew up and knacker the extension if the clamp doesnt fit properly..

?

Yes yes yes...thank you Rampage, I used the same one last time I did service on my fork! This should work!

If the delivery was not 8x the price of the tools I would order it from the site you gave me but fortunately I found it on ebay much cheaper!
Thank you again!

Tnx mate but it is not the same fork.
Mine have 15mm nuts on the bottom but the trick is that there is rebound adjuster rod so to reach nut on that side you need extra long socket, I hope I have found what I need...I am just waiting for it to come - I will report when it comes.
