Just got hold of of these forks, and the ECC in the right leg doesn’t work, googling has proven inconclusive…
Can this be serviced/stripped?
Any help or pointers appreciated.
Looks like 150cc of oil in that side of the leg. Pobably best to drain the oil out of the top of the fork, cycle the ECC until it's empty. Add 150CC's of fresh oil (Golden Spectro 125/150 is stock) and cycle the ECC until no more bubbles come out.
You'll want to do this with the fork compressed, so let all the air out before hand.
This should be more that enough info. Honestly all you should need is a 24mm flat ground socket to remove the top cap (after removing the ecc lever) once you're in there remove the top cap from the rod like they do in the video. You'll probably have to remove the top cap from the rod. One the cap is separated remove the spring and you should be able to pump and purge the old oil out of the ecc side. Might as well do the damper side as well as the oil will likely completely disgusting, same procedure. (grey and smelly). You'll pump the damper as well to purge the oil. That side oil amount is measured by oil height, the void between the pool of oil and the top of the crown threads, fork compressed, spring removed. Make sure to pump the damper until no bubbles and remeasure prior to putting in springs and reattaching the top caps.
You won't have to play around removing the foot nuts and removing the damper as you aren't replacing seals. Just focus on the top cap removal, oil height info from the vid.
