For me, one of the most beautiful brakes in history. Great guy Ben Capron. A pity that there is only one, perhaps for the couple I could pay more than double.

I only know of them after seeing them on this beast, one of my favourite MTB's

Well, they are the first V brakes. Ben Capron gave after his patent to Shimano.

year 88. Shimano put its V brakes on sale almost ten years later


Ben Capron belongs to the mtb museum of fame, he has been working at spe and designing their bikes for more than 30 years.

They’re nice brakes, I have some on a bougie Kona A’ha build. I wouldn’t expect these to sell at that price though.

The comment to turn a mtb into a road bike is because you have enough vertical adjustment to run 700c wheels.

I love these brakes so much, if I had that kind of money just laying around I'd be tempted.
