Marin pine wood

Hello guys my mate has this marin he is trying to sell but i'm not sure of the year. I think it's a 94 or 95 but the colour is wrong in the catalogs .

It's not in bad nick . took me back a few years when I saw it. Any one know what year it is?

probably 1995. the v-brakes and stem don't sit right though(chronologically) i expect the brakes are upgrades but the stem ought to be quill type, has this been altered by the current owner?

tell us more. are the hubs 'white industies'? serial number under bottom bracket may indicate a year of manufacture.

Came with Ahead forks and White Industries cranks as standard.

frame number under BB is F26hadot and on the head tube is cyc0013166

Forks are the ones that came with the bike and the headset is a ditech with the preload in the headset cup . The wheels i'm not sure off but they match up . I tink it had exile or something similar written inside.

the brakes aren't the original as the frame has the fittings for centre pull canties .

Yep, cantis as standard - the last year to be specced with them. V's from '97.

it feels nice to ride but the gears need new shifters the grip shift is getting sticky

Yep, it's model 1996.

the rear wheel is a nutted axle but the front is quick release.

Probably a cheap non-qr replacement due to the original being damaged.
