Marin Palisades

Tombar

Retro Newbie
Hi, My Palisades hasn’t left the garage for 13 years since I got the dog, but I took it in for servicing recently and they said it was “retro”. Marin thinks it’s probably 1991. Would people be interested in buying it (and how much?). Think everything is original except the saddle, bull bars and pedals (probably have originals in a box).
Forgot to say 17 inch frame

Re:

Ebay completed listings tend to show between £75 and £150 ish depending on willingness to post, you'll always get more interested folk and cash if you post a bike.

Personally I would put the original saddle back on it and list the what looks like a brooks conquest seperately as they can fetch anywhere upwards of £40.

Thanks retro bike guy.

What does willingness to post mean?

I don’t have the original saddle, but it’s good to know about the Brooks one

I mean a lot of people like to sell a bike and have it collected by the buyer, makes it easier for the seller but buyers from further away that desire the bike more than most will be willing to pay more to have you box it up and try to find a courier,...personally I find boxing up a bike a pain.

If you will box it and offer courier delivery you will get £50-100 onto the sale price even after the delivery charge.

Those Marins with the Zolatone paint have a really unique identity and a decent following. Yours looks very tidy. Take lots of good photos and it should sell easily.

It's a nice bike, rides way better than it should for the price. I still have mine, I have toured on it on four continents.

Re:

Would one of these pedals be the original Marin one?
