hi.

just enjoy it as it is. the hawk hill '96 is quite entry-level and no real need to repaint or upgrade the components. i mean, it isn't necessary, you would have to spend alot more money to feel a real benefit in performance.

you have tange tubing and strong components. have fun!

thanks.

Agreed, it's worth next to no money so only spend what you want too and enjoy it

Hi

Congratulations on a great find! :)

I used to work in a bike shop in 1994-96 and both sold and assembled Marins.

The Hawk Hill was actually a bargain at the time. It had a complete Acera group if I remember correctly and the Acera group was actually great.

It shifted beautifully and had adequate brakes. Considering that the Acera was an entry to mid level group set.....it performed really well.....so if you don't have any real problems with any of the components I would consider keeping it as it is.

The design of the Marins was also good at this time.

:)

hi
yes it is a great entry level Marin bike. I've tried and the acera components works well, there's no problem but corrosion.
I try to put some components from my another bike while I polishing the acera, and here's it look like :D
