Hi there. Sorry long time lurker here though thoroughly enjoyed the chat over the years!
Anyway, I’ve been commuting over the last 10 years on a proper trigger’s broom of a Marin.
The parts from my ‘93 17.5” Bobcat Trail bought from new were transferred to an ebay’d ‘92 15.5” Bear Valley frame when I started using the bike daily. The 17.5” being a real stretch for my 5’5” height.
Many miles later and after a succession of shorter stems and most recently trekking bars, I think I need to finally admit that Marin’s are indeed long bikes!
The only original parts remaining are the Altus brake levers and seat QR skewer though it is now a lean 1 x 7 with a smattering of modern XT and Thomson to keep me interested. Fave recent upgrade has been the 1.75 Panaracer Paselas that have transformed the bike on road.
So, enough waffle! Just wondered if there were any 14” Bear Valley frames out there? Other models considered too.
