:? righto..this is probably one for marin fans, ive seen some good examples of restoration projects on early marins -inigos' indian fire trail.ect.etc.
what im particularly interested in is the availability of rattle can flouro, the green, yellow, orange and so on. as i have a soft spot for those deep contrasting models.
has anybody obtained these colours...and a satisfactory match?
all info greatfuly acknowledged.thanks. :)

Does it really matter? Fluoro orange, green yellow etc are all available at Halfords. They burn your retinas, make you vom, etc. , but BITD nothing said "mountain bike" (at least on a London street), better.

I haven't found a match for the Neon Orange, even after spending 30 mins with the guys at Halfords mixing and matching :(

If anyone knows a proper match for Neon Orange, other than girlies nail varnish let me know ;)

Is this the orange you are looking for?

the fork on the left is original paint, the one on the right has been resprayed with Plasti-kote flouro orange from B&Q.

Flouro Yellow Powder Coat

slightly off topic, im looking for a flourescent yellow powder coat for my Marin, cant trust myself with spray or afford Argos, jacksons or other wet sprayers and slightly put off by the "chips like buggery" comments i hear.
Seems that yellow powdercoat is notoriously difficult to achieve in general, and my LBS will only consider three options of yellow as they have had such bad results over the years. none are too good a match either
Ideally I would like as close to "Marin Neon Lime Yellow" as possible.
It seems Flourescent yellows can be done in powdercoat as there is a company in canada do them, but cant seem to find anything in the UK.
I would have thought there was a demand for high vis metal powdercoat safety thing.

any thoughts or idea's

Hi Purplefrog, thanks for that.

both options involve me and lots and lots of effort it seems, lol

Im happy to pay a reasonable amount and like the finish and toughness of a powdercoat, and would prefer it done by someone who knows what they are doing.
