I was thinking more like that (typo westfailure? I know you know your Marins). However between bikepedia and the catalogues on this site all the mid-late 90s and early 2000s are covered with nothing in blue (and no alternative colours). Apart from a couple early 2000s with Columbus tubing but the decals look more like the 95-97 ones.

The bottom headset cup in the third picture says it has been resprayed so it's anyones guess. I first thought it was the american version of the 93/94 Muirwoods as they were that colour.

I have -99 Eldridge Grade in blue and it`s made up by columbus thron tubing and it have triangular shape downtube. So my guess is early-mid 90´S.
