I've got a Marin FRS as shown in my avatar, could be a 1998-1999 B-17 as it came with a piggyback Shock Works shock. I've just inherited a full disc set up so need the little L-shaped Marin adaptor that screws into the chainstay (and then worry about getting the right adaptor to fit that later..) or alternatively if somebody has a later swingarm from one with the disc tabs already in place that would be great too.

Any help or pointers appreciated, I'm scouring the 'bay constantly but to no avail

Thanks, I've looked before but they only do mounts or the 2000+ range of Marins, nothing earlier. I may have to et something made up but I was hoping someone might come to my rescue... :D

Unlikely you'll find one mate

I had one of these back in 97 for my B17 and they were pretty rare back then - needs a hope #1 caliper too

I'll pop a post on descent-world to see if the guy I flogged my B17 to still has it but I wouldn't hold my breath

Alternatively I think I have a post mount for C2 which may fit......, can you measure the post mount gaps - I think they were the hayes / manitou fit on 74mm

Thanks for your help boxxer, the mount is 60mm c2c which is why I'm struggling, and as you say it's unlikely I'm going to find anything. I did read though that ATB Sales who are the distro for Marin have some CAD drawings for a mount that attaches to it and converts it to 74mm, rather than the one they used to sell which is indeed Hope sized. The first image in the link is the old style bracket http://www.marin.co.uk/downloads/Marin% ... Models.pdf

You need one of the replacement swing arms with disk tabs and canti bolts already in place. I purchased one from Marin UK via my LBS for £200 about 18 months ago. At the time they said it was one of only 2 left in the country. Give them a call, you never know? This one is fitted to an early Mount Vision 1997

Thanks, I was reading through the old posts and saw your info on the different swingarms so I am keeping an eye out for one - doesn't seem like they come up that often but I will get in contact with them and see if they have any.

Just got the CAD drawings from ATB but they are for the Hope sized caliper mount

I've got a starting point though and could be used as a basis for a IS mount. I'm waiting to hear back about the swingarm.

I have an adaptor that was made up to fit my East Peak rear end that fits on to the chainstay that may be the bit you are after, I can take some pics and get some dimensions if that would be a help.
Cheers
