Marin Bear Valley SE 93' - Another one - WIP

Thevenny

Retro Newbie
Hi, my name is Daniele and I write from Italy (this is my first post on this forum :D)

I found this bike in very bad conditions, after months under rain and cold, without grips, the tires are completely gone and stickers very damaged.
I'm glad to take her under my lovely wings.:D

After a fast checkup I can ride her to understand what's work and what's don't work before working on..

Gears works perfectly, brakes not so much.. Wheels seems turns good, but the front do some noises..

Stay tuned for updates! :D

Welcome!

Lots of help, advice and support available on here.

Not to mention parts and other temptations.

Nice find :)
Can't go wrong with a Bear Valley.
Looks good already, should end up with a very nice rider for your efforts.

Thank you all!! :D :D

I had issues only when I've tried to unscrew the locked bottom bracket.. I found a revolutionary method!! :D

Today I brought the frame and fork to a painter, a car painter, with friendly prices :)

Another week, another issue!
I try to fix the squeeking noise from the front hub... but I'd better not to touch it..
The dishwashers are KO and I've destroyed the coverage of the spheres.. I've ordered a new one (with impossible delivery cost to Italy), with new spheres, but the left coverage don't remains in..

Because I'm sick I have ordered a new XT hub from CRC.. in Italy we says: off the tooth, off the pain! (I hope that the translation is correct :) )

Translation works fine :)
Shame your having a few issues but understandable when you see the state of the bottom bracket. It stands there is maybe a few other issues.
Still, at least when its finished you know you can trust it and the frame looks like new now its all painted, so you would want it all to work as it should.
