I've just tried to reply to your pm but don't seem to be able to send - they just stay in the outbox. No idea what I'm doing wrong so I'll try to answer your questions here.

As above, I've had a look and I've got a 3 inch standover height. I'm a tad over 6 ft tall.

The front shifter is working fine - the comment was just that the cable has been replaced with a new one so isn't original. All the components are good.

I've looked at the hubs and can't see any markings. The rims are Araya CV-7.

Sent pm earlier. Seems to be a bit delays as I got a couple of older messages come through.
Basically, if the gunk on the bottom bracket and underneath headtube/downtube gusset is just muck and not rust then I'll take it. Need to arrange collection after weekend as doing south downs way ride.
