Marin 97 FRS pivot HELP!

Hi,
I have a couple of the FRS versions of Marin's 97 full suspension bikes.
Whilst all still functional I want to upgrade one to a newer air shock.
Problem I have is I cannot get the old shock off.

I can remove the bolts on the upper mount and the nuts from the bottom mount.
But I cannot seem to move the 2 internal pivot pins/bars.

Anyone have any ACTUAL experience on these models on how to remove them?
Never had this issue before on any of my full sussers from 1994 onwards :(

The most precise way to get this done (I've done it lots of times) is to have it pressed out at an engineer's workshop using a hydraulic press. It takes them about 5 mins to do.
They can be really stubborn to remove if it's the first time since they were installed. Once you've had it out get it all greased up before putting back together, and next time will be easy.

I removed mine with a hefty wooden block and a long socket. They do corrode themselves into the frame. A light sanding afterward makes them smooth along with plenty of copperslip.

Re:

All sorted now thanks a lot of toing and froing and a bit of patience and the shock is off, now to order replacement bushings and spacers and the bike will be close to 300 grams lighter.
