Anyone know what the specific timelines are for Manitou from their first forks through to the late 90's Mars/SX ones?
Furthermore, where certain ones sit in the range as they had more than one fork from 95'ish?

All I know for definite are...

Manitou 2 - 1993
Manitou 3 - 1994

I bought a gary fisher pro caliber in california in '92 and got this fork installed instead of the standard unicrown it came with

Re:

To add to the early 90s range.....there were:-

Comp
Magnum
and Sport

Pretty sure Magnums are Mani 4 era so 94/95? maybe

Thanks guys. So, what we have so far is this...

1st generation Doug Bradbury Manitou fork - 1990

2nd generation Doug Bradbury Manitou fork - 1991

Answer Manitou 1 - 1992

Answer Manitou 2 - 1993

Answer Manitou 3 - 1994

Answer Manitou 4 - 1995

Answer Manitou EFC - 1996

Where do the sport and magnum models sit? What's their position in the line up for that year too. Were they a cheaper model, less travel?

Hi, Ive just recently bought a set of manitou 1 and have just come across your thread whilst looking for info,

Below is a photo of my 1990 yeti, that was taken in 1991. At the time i worked for a bike shop in lancashire and was lucky enough to get hold of a set of 1st generation 'answer manitou 1'. The owner of that shop had a friend bring a few sets back with him from the states ( i should have the original receipt somewhere for them ) I dont think there was an importer as yet at that time in the UK..
Also at the time, you couldnt buy shock boots !! , i had to make my own out of old inner tubes !!

PS, the first set didnt last long !, but by that time there was an importer.. so was easy to replace..

Damn good forks :D

Martin (Reddy),
I wondered when you'd appear on here!
Not seen you for ages. I think the last time we spoke was at a VW show somewhere, and you were building miniature scale models to order.
Let's see if you can figure out who I am?
