Manitou comp fork steerer alignment?

Hi all. I bought these Manitou comp forks from a chap on here and didn’t use them in the end so sold them on eBay. The buyer then returned them as the steerer is not 90 degrees to the crown and his local bike shop said they are not fit to use. My question is whether this is normal or whether these have an issue? Does anybody have a pair to compare with? The pic makes it look worse than it is as it was hard to hold the forks completely straight vertically.

Not all forks have steerers that are straight by design. I don't have a clue if these are such forks should be straight or not. Images online are inconclusive to my eyes.

I would have thought that some would have a slight angle to set the forks outwards. The crown race seems to seat ok. Maybe he just didn’t want them.

Take a look at a syncros fork and see the steerer tube angle on one of them. That lbs would think that's crash damage :p

If have thought a fork would get its take either at the crown or dropout, not both.

Syncros fork has the dropouts in line with the leg so the rake is done at the crown, manitou should be the other way around.

Looking at the pic more closely, using the door lines as a guide, there is an angle to the rear of the crown there the steerer tube seems to follow. Hard to say for sure but looks that way.

Are the stanchions ok/straight. Has some ace forks I bought that had been bent slightly at the crown which couldn't be seen until removed.
