Springs
Hi not sure if any of you have tried this, but after searching for elastomers for my Manitou Sports i got to thinging about putting some springs in them.
Well what i ended up using was two in each leg of motorbike valve springs (the ones i used came from a triumph tiger off ebay for a tenner).
They come with external and internal spring so 4 in total in each leg, they also have guides for the valve stems seated at each end so the skewer is a nice fit... Fitted them and greased everthing up nice and there is no play in them and a nice smooth about 50mm of travel, they also seem to return quite well, nice and smoothly... not given them a real good trashing yet but they seem great... i was going to take some pictures but my camera phone would not work...
I will give an update when i have taken them for a decent ride...

Here is the said forks attached to my 1994 Diamond Back Response Elite.
Ive owned this from new and its been gathering dust for quite a few years in the garage. 2 weeks ago i bought the wife a new bike and got my sad old bike out... It was a right mess, i thought its 18 years old get a new one.
So i bought a 2010 Kona Hei Hei....
Then i got laid off from work last friday and have spent most of this week stripping, cleaning lubing and polishing this back to the beauty i remembered it to be...
