Manitou 3 (1994) in an Almega DX 1991?

Hi, I just found a Manitou 3 in good condition, with elastomers replaced and working for 150 €. And steerer tube is 1 1/4", good for my Almega DX 1991. DO you think it is a good deal? Makes sense this fork in this bike? I also like the Cromo fork, but I think it's always interesting to have a first generations Manitou .

I replaced the Saddle for a Flite Titanium almost NOS, and I just bought a Syncros Seatpost ( sorry to install a dropper post for the Photo!!), original satpost is ugly, and with a lot of marks.

What's the opinion of the specialist in this field, new for me?

The most fitting fork (in my opinion) would be Rockshox RS-1. Both aesthetically and more period correct. The colour of Manitous do not fit too well. But of course you can try, and what you feel fits the best is the right one

You are right. But Manitou always has a "plus" for me due to nices CNC and raw aluminium finish. Here it is hard to find a Rockshock RS1. And aestetically I didnt't and I don't like the RS1. I had a Mag21 in my second bike ( Alpinestards DSR 94 or 95 and I found it a lot nicer the MAG but I think it's too thin for this bike, Manitou are more beefy and suits in this aspect.
I don't know. Maybe I will keep it with the Cromo fork. I started 1,5 month ago with this bike (bought used, identical to my old 91 Almega) and I already spend more on this than in my usual bike!!
I need to think. Maybe I buy the fork only to have another Jewell on my Garage and switch betwen forks from time to time.

Yes, the thinness of early suspension forks is a bit of a problem with fat alu tube frames. How about Manitou SX Ti in white? Not period correct, but the colours would maybe fit better.

Cnc stuff on the manitou forks are nice, but I think it would match better if some other parts on the bike would be cnc as well.

Pace would be good because carbon looks good an nearly any bike but price would probably be a bit steep for a completely working one.

Or you could keep the cromo forks and use a neon girvin flexstem.

I had a manitou SXR in my Specialized FSR XC acquired in 2000. I prefer old CNC Manitous. But I need to think about it. The retrobikes world is addcitive! I would buy everything!
I'm afraid about the original Megalite Stem. I broke my first Megalite after 2-3 years in y first Almega ( about 1994). Should I buy an ATAC an install it?
I have a Dilema. Keep the bike as standard as possible or update it with coolest pieces of thet time?

I must think in this idea about the Girvin,. Will I find it in 1 1/4"?

Manitou’s would look nice in neon I think.
