Manitou 2 1.25 1 1/4 inch questions

I’ve picked up a bike solely for some forks but in the moment totally never considered they would be 1 1/4 inch steerer.

I know sometimes with this size bits can vary as the crown does look different to my others.

Is there any reason I can’t source a steerer/ crown in 1 1/8 and swap them out?

I know this sound amateur but I’ve been caught before with Cannondale specific stuff.

I'd be happy to swap a crown if you need a 1-1/8 one and have 1-1/4. where are you located?
