Maillard Heliomatic tool

Hi Folks,

Does anybody have a Maillard Heliomatic freewheel remover tool that they could sell me or lend me?

Failing that, any method of removing it without the tool.

Big vice grips did it for me.

It's dead fiddily though. Once you've got the lockring off, the freewheel might well still be wedged on there. In that case just put the wheel back on the bike, without the lockring, then go for a good long ride. Maybe ride off curbs and stuff. Anything to give it a bit of a shock.

The Helico lock ring can be removed by CAREFULLY using slip jawed pliers and a very light hand. The ring is easily deformed due to its aluminium construction. If you are going to use the system, invest in the tool but shop around - those prices are excessive.
