Mag21 rebuild

Hello. I just bought a Mag21 for my Rocky mountain Altitude 1995. It holds pressure and compresses, but feeling is far from desirable.
Is it hard to dissassemble and rebuild ( changing oil and some seals if needed)?
I'm more or less skilled , I do all my maintenance, but I never opened a for like this. Is it worth to try only replacing oil and see? Seals seems in very good condition . But it's like "sticky".

If the oil isn't leaking the seals are fine.
Drop the air, (needle valve), take the top caps of carfully, as you unwind either hold the dual in place or keep turning it back. Otherwise you can snap the circlip off the bottom of the rod (metal rods is tends to snap the holding bit on the rod.
Not actually a problem if it does, except it rattling around in the lower/Oil.)


Rinse out a few times with a bit of fresh oil, fill up, caps on an pump up to 100PsI, leave for a day, then drop to ~40PSI.

Depends how large your retrobelly is.
But yes, the tweaking guides tells you all that too. You can vary it of course.
