Tri bike has a slightly steeper seat tube and slightly shorter top tube, this allows you to comfortably rest on the tri bars. If your legs arms and back form three sides of a square then on a tri bike you achieve a squarer shape which is more comfortable in the long run.

Alas it was never built up, I got as far as the components you see in the thread, too many projects at the same time and then a spate of modern buying. Kinda regret it as its a really really nice frame, would make a fairly rapid and comfy road blaster.
