anyone got a 2 pin tool I could borrow, need to get a self extracting cap on a set of cranks and it has a 4 hole set up and I cannot get it screwed in baa!

Alex recommended one he got from ebay,an adjustable pin spanner.I think it cost about £3 or something cheap like that
Invaluable time saver having your own .Makes like rolson make lots of specialist tools but for a fraction of the cost of top brand names.They do the job and wont last forever but theyre not bad at that.

There is a trade type store @ Eglington Toll,its called 'the tool shed' they stock all the stuff you'll need.You could probably drive there on your lunch hour.

do you have this one? the holes are pretty small. smaller than the bottom bracket pin tool that I already have- was going to gemmy up a fork to use

I've got an absolute mint condition XT rear mech, I think it's M739 from memory without taking it off the bike. I don't suppose anyone wants to swap for an M950?
