Unless the bolt isn't tight enough, unlikely, it's most likely the bush in shock that's worn causing play. It's an easy fix to push out the old one and fit a new one. Can be done using a couple of suitably sized small sockets and a long thin bolt. The mounts that fit in bush will probably be worn as well so best to renew too.

yip, recently went round all the bolts with a torque wrench and the data sheet, all were pretty much on the money, and it was the first thing I tried when when I noticed the play the other day

gad damn modern fankled bouncy things, but I do love it

G, had similar on my anthem, likely you will need a new bushing kit for the shock where it's mounted in the frame.

Fairly cheap and easy enough to replace, hard bit is getting the right size for the bike.

The anthem you noticed it when you lifted the frame by the saddle and there was a wee bit of play in the rear triangle.

I've replaced a few bushes since getting full suspension, recently fitted a Strong Bush kit from BETD, to my daughter's Wolf Ridge. It's the one with the stainless steel pin and polymer bush. Says they last longer but only been in there around a couple of months so time will tell. After removing old bush, managed to push the new one in by starting it with my thumb then by pushing down on small block of wood got it right in.

yup, that's just how I noticed it

got a uni assignment, and a full on week of work to do then off to Skye on Sunday. i hoping / assuming that I can ride this a few more times before sorting it out?

I'm sure you can still do some riding but a loose bush isn't too much fun and can be dispiriting to say the least, still its only when they are all loose that the game truly up and you should probably stop riding and take matters into hand.
