MacRetro chat and rides thread

ZZ turbo trainer... I'll sell you mine if you want - used around 6 times - quieter gel rollered, fluid resistance type - no resistance adjustment, you use your gears to make it harder.

In an idle moment I've been peering at OS maps and reckon there is a potential mini epic closer to home than our jaunts into deepest highlandshire.
Aberfoyle can be linked to Rowardennan on Loch Lomond via loads of landrover track and footpaths. Google satelite imagery and OS maps show interesting footpath descent to Rowardennan but then again it might be too steep. Then north along WHW to Cailness which I've seen snippets suggesting its good to ride before steep Landrover track climb back out and eastward back to Aberfoyle.
A trip on the Loch Lomond ferry in Summer can be thrown in for interests sake.
Could be something interesting to look at next year
I love maps me !

Went for a wee spin around around the forest south of Loch Ard a few years ago - managed to get lost but did find a nice wee bit of singletrack, but don't ask me to find it again :D Coming round a bend onto a herd of deer was highlight of the day though.

Is this the descent down into the Forest Velo, or is it not marked on the map? Interestingly, the trail west from Moin Eich disappears on the big scale OS map!

Also a thumbs up for the WHW trail toward Inversnaid! And not strictly relevent to this ride, also has a link to a trail around Ardgartan...
