MacRetro chat and rides thread

I'd love to but it would be more than a weekend so would probably rule me out, the drive to skye/torridon is probably my driving limit too, adding a ferry into the equation would make the cost too high for me.

I'm doing the Ardgay/Ullapools coast to coast in september with my local group, I'm really excited about re doing it, especially as I have working brakes (and legs) now.

Yes but we might be starting from further in to aid our less fit buddy. Will be a fairly relaxed pace heading up the night before and staying local, will probably be a b&b at the Ullapool end too, my mates like too much comfort, and a separate room for my snoring.

Breaks right enough... Did you fix the binding at the front btw?

The C2C was great, although i think a big room at the YH is part of the experience. Hope there's going to be some loony dooking in the water too.

No, not had a chance, been rebuilding a mates bike for him, will get to it on Friday, just in time for the Saturday ride :)

If ye start further in is that still a coast to coast? Agree with ZZ, the YH is all part of the bonding, the mutual fart cloud and sweaty fug brings the group together.

K, that is my argument about starting at least at Ardgay, I'd prefer to start at The Bonar Bridge.

I've tried to persuade them to YH and Bothy but they are having none of it, and with one of the guys being 6'4'' and weighing 24 stone I can understand it. They are not really mountain bikers as such they just like forest track and being in nice places.

Anyone off on Tuesday and fancy a ride at Dalbeattie and Mabie? Planning on doing a loop(at least) of each.
