I'm thinking 700-odd metres of climbing - sounds like same sort of ballpark as black climb up to the radio mast at GT.

Looks like there is also an alternate descent via Andrew Gannel - will update map methinks. Definitely needs a trip though.

I like the look of Andrew!

The red line descent is much more gradual than the orange, you can see it snakes along the side of hill. Ie.

Eyeballed the route on bikehike where you can see the satellite and the OS side by side - The dotted lines follow established paths, so no silly off-pisteing.

That looks like a nice long descent. I love tracks where you cut across the side of hills.

2nd route is the one to go with. Still a constant slog to Ben Ever though. Downhill most of the way from Ben Cleuch to Tillicoultry.

Avoid the Law hill.
