Weight weenie only works for those with big bank balances and you Kaiser have already got the lightest bike to use as a basis.

If you want a weight weenie comp why not set some basic parameters all contestants must adhere to. My suggestion would be all bikes must be steel, must have 21 gears (very common set up with our bikes), must only have shimano/suntour components. This would narrow down the options but increase the possibilities for more entrants. Differences in weights might be less obvious but could include devious weight saving ideas such as drillium

I'd favour no comp though, just a get together for MacRetro members for a gid wee ride
