They always struck me as a bit of bling but were they the natural upgrade choice bitd? Never paidmuch attention to theses details as I had my hot rod bars and they were lush- chopped of course.
Btw mr k pm me the details of them there road wheels you have on the featherweight project, a dude in work is looking for some light weight wheels and is considering paying £900 for a set
The wheels I had were only £200 but at a later date I'll upgrade. Should get some nice hoops for £900, if he's not brand concious you can get as good as cheaper. Does he want carbon or ally? Light or aero? Will they be the only wheel he uses. Does he race or sportives?
he has the ones that came on the bike he has, he is more a weekend rider but loves his expensive stuff, training to do one of the ton races this year, his bike is about 20 pounds as is now.
The wheels dont look like anything special, over priced mediocre and hes a weekend rider wanting to do a ton (race) :?
More money than sense I bet hes fat an'all.
they are light, the latest version of my £400 mavics are 400g more including the qr's - but I would be reluctant to be running full race wheels as a casual rider on our roads.
Also my bike is steel and 20lbs (the frame is heavier than the xizang) - there must be many more places he could loose weight for that money. what bike does he have?
Can't argue with the wheel for the price, its good and light but not particularly aero has a lifetime warranty though. It is slightly specialist mind erring towards hilly courses and of course its for tubs which is a discussion in itself. I'd also say not an everyday wheel, more an event special.
