MacRetro chat and rides thread

Got the Phil McKane book through from Amazon today (Scotland Mountain Biking - the Wild Trails) ... enjoying it, but I thought there'd be more routes in it, or am I just being unreasonable?

not as many as other books but it has good mapping, is pocket sized and really detailed, I've been dreaming over mine since christmas.

Agree all sound tempting! This was where I got the Mugdock idea from.

Anyone know the best way to dismantle a pulsar hub ? :)
I picked up a pair on ebay and think i'll check their internals and see whats what :?

Took delivery of my 92 Kona Fire Mountain and chucked on some forks, seatpost and wheels to get an idea of its looks. Must admit it looks quite modern, Kona were ahead of their time back in the early 90's. Unfortunately numerous wee anoyances to sort as per usual such as 26.2 or 26.4 seatpost which are no longer common so off we search for a shim. Previous owner fitted a splined ISIS BB which require yet another tool to remove and tyre clearance is toward the narrower end so dig out the 1.95's again. I think it'll ride pretty good though :D

I've got an ISIS BB tool you can borrow Velo, plus I've got a black generic 26.4 seatpost, 300mm I think - if you want that you can have it. Need to give you your Z3s back as well
