MacRetro chat and rides thread

I'm contemplating a wee run to Arran in early March, say Saturday 5th.
My plan is to get to Arran on the 1230 ferry then cycle across 'The String' to Broadwaterfoot then head north up the west coast to lochranza, once there i'll stay at the youth hostel. Following day head back to Brodick for 1040 or 1325 ferry back to mainland.

Only cycling will be of the tarmac variety. Anyone interested ?

Please remember no one need stay on Arran like me as you could ride back to Brodick for the last ferry at 1800. ;)

Kaya's run is a bit too far for me and I couldn't do arran and stay on the road.

My knee has been playing up again too Gaz - caused by DIY despite wearing knee pads, I reckon it must have been the lifting.
I'm using cycling to sort it out, avoid hills and just play on the flat.

Yep, it is quite a hike for a 10am start. I think I'm going to grab a £30 Travelodge deal so I'm not knackered at the start. I do't do early mornings very well. The cakes better be good :D

For Mayhem in 2008 I did a days work then left at 7.00pm and drove till I got there at 3am - then slept in the car, getting up at 8 to pitch my tent. I don't recommmend it.

Anyone for Mayhem this year?

Need a pic for the monthly newsletter doodah, anyone anything remotely interesting?

Pic of my road bike and a link to the forsale section ? :)

Or a pic of my bathroom being renovated?

where there any pics taken at BlairMudam?

I'm off so I'll mibee meet you. Will need to check ferry timetables though.

I've booked myself into lochranza YHA for Saturday 5th March so i'm going to Arran no matter what. I'm traveling to Ardrossan by train as its easiest especially as with my ME I need to relax when not riding my bike. I cannot get to Ardrossan before 1030 which means the first available ferry for me is the 1230 which arrives in Brodick at 1325. Last ferry to leave Brodick for Ardrossan is 1920 so that leaves over 5 hours to do the north Arran circuit if anyone only wants a day trip. North Arran road circuit is about 32 miles and it 14 miles from Lochranza to Brodick which I'll do on Sunday but for you fit types would be a breeze to do on Saturday.
I'm looking forward to it so I hope it does'nt pee down

I'll let you know nearer the time, I could buzz the bottom half in the morning meet you and do the top half later.
