not read it yet, hopefully posting it here will remind me
Not a bad wee read. Is it just me, but if you only had one brake, would you not rather have front than back? Like the idea of someone carting your luggage.

Re: the east side of Loch Lomond section, there was a recent writeup on STW, I think the guy did it north to south and was wondering what all the fuss was about, although general consensus seems to be 'hike a bike, avoid'.

And come on, full sus = all day comfort, you can see why he'd recommend it for 3 full days on the WHW.

ZZ your right Id rather have the front one, BTW the fact that his
brake failed so early indicates the bike wasn't fit for the task
before he started TW@T ;)

.

Springs? In my day we used saddles made of barbed wire on our Penny Farthings while cycling the Himalayas. MTFU.

In no way could this ever describe any number of Macretro bikes before any number of rides...

How many loose headsets were tightened on the C2C? :D

Yeah you've got a point ZZ but look at it this way, 8 riders covering nearly
80 miles = 640 miles. 1 x broken chain, 1 x slow puncture, ? x loosening head sets, 1 x change of rear pads (me) in those condition/terrain isn't bad really.

oooooooooooooo! the luxury, the absolute pure decadence of it. For me it was just hoping up and down on a rusty pointy pole up Olympus Mons .SMTFU

You mean you had bikes? We used to take the big stick that our dad used to beat us senseless with and pretend it were t'andlebars whilst running round in rags and barefeet up and down the carboard box in't road that we called home.
