Question

I was sold a pair of wheels (a matching pair NOT)
One is drilled for Presta the other for Schraeder.
Can I run Presta in both rims or must I use a adaptor?
Or do I drill out the Presta rim?

It gets better 2 different types of rim, one rim was oval
and buckled with different length spokes.

All sorted now though :?

Re presta/shrader - i ased similar Q a few months back on the main forum. Some guys use prestas on shrader rims without any mods, some use special grommits.

I cut a couple of sections of old inner tube approx 2" square, punched through with a hole punch, inserted presta valve using the rubber tube offcuts as a buffer between tube and rims - has worked so far ;)

I must confess that when presented with the same problem I just drilled out the Presta holes to a Schrader size. I think the rim will be engineered to cope with this, but deburring the holes is a bit tricky.

buy a pump that fits both, there are loads out there now, I have one that auto changes, well I did until I met some theiving west coaster types :) - I also have a brass adaptor for my old fashioned pump.

Gaz could you bring my pump to the C2C?

No TK you missing the point I don't want to carry spare tubes
for both types, Ive got a few pumps that do both kinds.
I prefer Schraeder any way :?

prestas are great

for breaking that little brass screw thing off

on a hillside

useless roadie crap IMHO
